Racing is one exciting way to challenge yourself – but it’s never the only reason to ride with us.
NICA NY Racing Explained

CNY Sharks are part of the New York NICA league, which runs a spring race series including professionally hosted events on youth-appropriate trails. This year’s series includes five weekends, culminating in the NY State Championships.
Racing with the Sharks comes with full team support, from guided warm-ups and pre-race walkthroughs to encouragement on race day and reflections afterward. The courses are youth-focused and designed in partnership with local land managers to ensure age-appropriate challenges. The season is thoughtfully structured, with each race building in difficulty and purpose as riders work toward the championship event.
Racing is completely optional, you’re welcome to ride with the team all season without ever entering a race. For those who do choose to race, we emphasize effort, personal growth, and resilience over results. Whether it’s your first race or your tenth, you’ll be supported by coaches and surrounded by a positive, team-centered atmosphere.
