Tim Taber – Director of the Board, Team Director and Level 3 Coach
Tim has been with many of our athletes since their early days in Kids On Bikes and has played a central role in building the CNY Sharks into what it is today. As Team Director and a Level 3 NICA coach, he brings years of experience in both riding and racing. All four of Tim’s children have gone through the program, and his youngest, Jon, recently graduated and will be attending college on a cycling scholarship.

Nicky Jennings – Board Member & Head Coach
Nicky is a dedicated Sharks coach and a strong advocate for getting more girls on bikes. She’s an experienced endurance mountain bike racer with a love for long, technical courses—and occasionally mixes in gravel and cyclocross events. With over 20 years of coaching experience, Nicky holds a bachelor’s degree in sport and exercise science and a master’s in health education. You’ll often find her at practice with her two-year-old son Dylan along for the ride, supporting coaching while modeling a family-friendly team culture.

Derek Goodemote – Board Member, Coach & Sharks Parent
Derek’s son rides with the Sharks NICA race team and started his journey through the Kids on Bikes program. As both a coach and parent, Derek is deeply invested in the team’s mission. He coaches because he genuinely believes there’s no better community than the one built by Sharks riders, families, and coaches.
Liz Walz – Board Member & Secretary/Treasurer
Liz is a mountain biker and outdoor enthusiast whose son, Ben, rides with the Sharks and has been part of the program since his Kids on Bikes days. She brings a deep commitment to helping the team grow and thrive—both on and off the trails—and plays an essential role in team leadership and organization.
Todd Gloo – Board Member, Level 3 Coach & Sharks Parent
Todd has been mountain biking with kids for over a decade and joined NICA seven years ago to give his own children the chance to ride with a team. After seeing the positive impact the Sharks had on his son Trent, Todd chose to stay on as a coach even after Trent graduated—committed to giving other student-athletes the same great experience.
