Derek Goodemote

Board of Directors

Todd Gloo—Board Member, Head Coach, Level 3 Coach & former Sharks Parent
Todd has been mountain biking with kids for over a decade and joined NICA seven years ago to give his own children the chance to ride with a team. After seeing the positive impact the Sharks had on his son Trent, Todd chose to stay on as a coach even after Trent graduated—committed to giving other student-athletes the same great experience.

Derek Goodemote – Board Member, Coach & Sharks Parent
Derek’s son rides with the Sharks NICA race team and started his journey through the Kids on Bikes program. As both a coach and parent, Derek is deeply invested in the team’s mission. He coaches because he genuinely believes there’s no better community than the one built by Sharks riders, families, and coaches.

Chris Corfield and his son, Nathan

Liz Walz – Board Member, Secretary/Treasurer, Sharks Parent
Liz is a mountain biker and outdoor enthusiast whose son, Ben, rides with the Sharks and has been part of the program since his Kids on Bikes days. She brings a deep commitment to helping the team grow and thrive—both on and off the trails—and plays an essential role in team leadership and organization.

Chris Corfield – Board Member, Coach & Sharks Parent
Chris’s son Nathan rides with the Sharks, and he has younger boys who are eager to join when they’re old enough. Chris began coaching as a way to stay involved and stay active while Nathan was at practice, but he quickly discovered how much he enjoyed building connections with Sharks riders while helping them develop skills, confidence, and sportsmanship. After trying other sports and extracurricular activities with his children, Chris and his family have come to appreciate the low-key nature of mountain biking and the vibrant community of genuinely good people that surrounds the sport.

Todd Gloo

Todd has also been a head coach of the CNY Sharks for two years, but has been coaching with the Sharks since the team’s inception. He has helped shape the supportive, fun, and welcoming culture that defines our program. As both a longtime coach and parent of Sharks graduate Trent, Todd has seen firsthand the impact mountain biking can have on young athletes both on and off the bike.
